Dogs are indeed cute and cuddly. Nowadays, different dogs are making a scene everywhere. A toy dog is actually a petite dog which is quite small when compared to working dogs. It is safe to determine toy dogs by their size although it is quite confusing since there is still no guaranteed facts which state that height and weight is considered in classifying a dog as a toy.
The most fascinating thing about toys dogs is their affective capability wherein they can fill the needs of sad and lonely individuals and the adults. Generally, toy dogs are very easy to take care of. The Toy Poodle, Japanese Chin and Toy Spaniel on the other hand require only a moderate grooming. While other toy dog do not require any grooming at all.
The production of toy dogs is by mass production when compared to larger breeds. There are some toy dog breeds that are crossbred to other breeds to produce a -poo dog breed. So for those consumers who want to buy a purebred toy dogs, beware of such -poo breeds. They look like the other toy dogs but then they differ in attitude sometimes. Some of these -poo dogs are ill-tempered, hyper and yappy.

Chihuahua, Yorkshire Terrier Or Pomeranian – Which Toy Dog Breed is Best For You
Excecutive Summary about Toy Dog by Roy Cunningham

small toy dog
For those in need of a small dog, whether it is because they like to keep things small or space at home only allows for a small pet, your best dog choices will lay within the toy dog species. Of the most popular species of toy dog are the Yorkshire terrier, Chihuahua, and Pomeranian.
- Yorkshire Terrier
However, it has since grown to become the second most popular dog choice amongst dog owners. As a highly intelligent species, the Yorkshire has the aptitude to master commands in a very quick manner. They are fun and energetic dogs, but this energy can manifest into aggression when irritated (which happens easily). It is not a toy dog recommended for families taking care of children as well.
- Chihuahua
The long-haired type sheds hair less often than that of the short-haired making it an excellent choice for those with allergies and easily irritated noses. They live best alone, and are easily irritated by other dogs as well as the persistence of small children.
- Pomeranian
They are very bossy toy dog and feel free to bark at strangers and other animals if not trained by a stern hand to do otherwise. Pomeranians find it hard to listen to commands, but remain highly intelligent, curious, and love to learn. Many celebrities like to own Pomeranians and spoil them with ridiculous clothing and accessories. I suppose in this sense it makes them very tolerant dogs.
While no toy dog breed may fit every family, doing more personal research into the type of dog species you would like to adopt may sway your adoption choices one way or another.
